I can't get my computer to boot up
 
1. Check the power cable to ensure that it is plugged into the back of the computer and into a working power outlet in the wall. 
2. If the computer is plugged into a surge protector or battery backup, makes sure the surge protector/battery backup is turned on.  Also check to make sure it is connected to a working power outlet in the wall.  Try plugging an electrical device into the surge protector/battery backup to make sure it's working properly.  
3. If you have a floppy drive, check the drive to make sure no removable media is in the drive.  If media is in the drive, remove then reboot the computer.
4. If you can see lights on the computer but the display is blank check the cable connections on the monitor, to the computer, and to the power outlet in the wall. 
5. Check additional parallel and serial ports to ensure they are working correctly as this can cause a computer not to boot up. 
6. Listen to the computer.  It you can hear the hard drive and computer fans but the computer will not boot then you could have a hard drive that is having problems booting up. 
7. After checking all the cable connections and if the computer still will not boot up, refer to the manual that came with your computer or call Premier Data Systems.
