Please read these instructions carefully before you install or connect the printer to your computer.

Installing the Driver for the Zebra-Eltron TLP2844 Thermal Tag Printer

1. Remove the Zebra-Eltron printer and power supply from the box.  Connect the power supply and the USB cable to the printer.  Turn the printer on.
2. If you received a Driver Resource CD put the CD into the CD-ROM or CD-RW drive then plug the USB cable into an available USB port on the back of the computer .  When you plug the printer into the USB port, the New Hardware Wizard will appear on your screen.  Sometimes you will get a screen asking if you want Windows to connect to the Internet.  If you get this screen click NO then click Next.  Accept the default on the following screen click Next.  The wizard will start searching for the correct driver for this printer.
3. Once the Wizard has located the correct driver on the CD, the driver will begin to install.  The Hardware Installation screen will appear click Continue Anyway to complete the driver install.
4.

The Completing the New Hardware Wizard appears; click Finish. A pop-up screen will appear on the lower right-hand corner of the screen stating that the new hardware has been installed and is ready to use.

Testing the Printer

Do not
send a Windows Print Test to this printer.  Sending a Windows Print Test to this printer can cause a problem with the firmware.  Follow the instructions below to test the printer.

1. Open The Uniform Solution program go to File > Printer Setup > Price Tags.  Printer = Zebra, type = Thermal and Model = Zebra TLP2844.  Add tags to queue and print.

If you downloaded the print driver from our website you will need to unzip the Zudv55717.exe file.  When you unzip the file a folder will be created on your local c: drive called Zud55717.  Cancel and/or exit any screens that appear after you have unzipped the file.  Follow the instructions above to install the driver but you will need to navigate to the Zudv55717 folder on your local c: drive when installing the driver.

If you are connecting the printer to a Parallel or Serial port, please follow the directions under the Windows Generic Print Driver Install document.

If after you have installed the driver you are still having problems getting the printer to install, please give us a call.
