My barcode scanner is not scanning
 
1. Check all the cable connections to your scanner and to the computer to ensure the cables have not come loose or been disconnected.
2. If the scanner is a USB connection to the computer try disconnecting the cable from the USB port and then reconnect.  Do not shut-down the computer.  The computer should be on when connecting most USB devices.
3. If your scanner is an older model keyboard connection with a decoder box you will need to shut-down the computer before disconnecting or connecting any cables to the computer or to the decoder box.  After the computer is turned off, disconnect and reconnect all the cables to the decoder box and to the computer.  Turn the computer on after you have reconnected all the cables.
4. After you have checked all the connections and cables and if the scanner still doesn't scan, refer to the manual that came with your scanner or call Premier Data Systems.
