The
following is a guide to
assist you in installing the X-Charge Credit
Card software. Prior to installing
X-Charge on your computer, you need to create a
folder called xcharge on your
hard drive. The xcharge
folder is
considered your transaction
folder.
NOTE:
If you were using
ICVerify Credit Card software, you will need to
remove this software including the ICV folder on
your hard drive prior to installing
X-Charge.
Creating the xcharge
folder

Double-click on My Computer >
Local c: drive > USW folder. In a
blank area within the window right-click, move
your mouse pointer to New and
left-click on Folder.
Name the folder xcharge, press
enter to save the changes then close all windows
back to the desktop.
NOTE:
If you
are installing X-Charge on a computer that has
The Uniform Solution installed as a
workstation install you will need to create a USW
folder on your hard drive then inside the
USW folder you will create the
xcharge
folder.
Insert the CD labeled
Driver Resource CD (you should have received
this CD in your packet when you purchased the
software) into your CD-ROM drive and navigate to
the X-Charge folder on the CD.
Double-click on the
xc7.0.1.exe to begin the
install process. If you downloaded
X-Charge from the website to the desktop, locate
the xc7.0.1.exe
on your desktop and double-click to
begin the install process.
NOTE: When installing the
software, follow the prompts and read each
screen. The majority of the screens you
will accept the default
settings
.

Welcome
screen appears click next.
3.
License
Agreement screen appears click Yes to
continue.
4.
Choose Destination
Location screen appears click next to accept
the current destination folder or click Browse
to install into a different
folder.
5.
Server/Client Installation
screen appears accept default
Single User/Server click
next.
6.
Processor screen
appears. If you are unsure as to which
processor you will be using, please cancel the
install and call X-Charge (800 - 338 - 6614) to
find out which processor to
select.
7.
Start Installation
screen appears click next to start the
install process.
8.
Install screen appears
showing the progess of the
install.
Restart screen appears. Close any
open program and click OK to restart your
computer.
11.
When your computer reboots to
the desktop an icon for X-Charge will be
added.
12.
X-Charge will
run as a service on
your computer in the System Icon Tray in the lower
right-hand corner of the screen. X-Charge
must be running to
process credit cards. If you accidentally close the service icon,
double-click on the X-Charge icon on your desktop
to open the program; this will restart the
service. After you have restarted the service, you
can close the X-Charge program.
